About the event

This year, the Cultural Caravan partners with The Arts HUB for a series of four intimate masterclasses with our season's resident artists. The lineup for this year's series is:

Thursday, January 18: Ramakhandra

Ramakhandra is a genre-bending band blending inspirations such as anime and Afropop. They will discuss their creative process and how they developed their band's unique identity.

Friday, February 23: Leonard Jacome & Friends

Leonard Jacome is a globally celebrated harpist who brings together musical influences from all over the Spanish-speaking world. An experienced teacher and the inventor of his very own harp, he will discuss how all aspects of culture are communicated through music.

Thursday, April 4: Art Lande & Friends

A jazz legend with over six decades of experience performing with and writing for jazz greats, Art Lande has published books on the subjects of musical communication and improvisation. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of our most respected elder statesmen in jazz.

Friday, May 10: The Emil Trio

The Emil Trio includes violinist Nathan Meltzer, a top-prizewinning former student of the virtuoso Itzhak Perlman; cellist Josh Halpern, who frequently collaborates with renowned artists around the globe and with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic; and pianist Yannick Rafalimanana, who trained at the Paris Conservatoire and is now in demand as a chamber musician throughout Europe and the United States. They will dispel myths of the classical world and take participants through the process of putting together a piece of chamber music.

These classes are free but donations are encouraged. All proceeds go to support The Arts HUB's musical programming.
