In Zimbabwe, a newborn's umbilical cord is buried at the family homestead as proof of where they belong. Zivanai Masango returns to that place and traces his roots—traditional drumming, the Salvation Army, mbira, Chimurenga protest music, and Afrojazz—through a nation's fight for freedom.
